NORTHERN NEVADA

DIVERSITY SUMMIT

2026

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The University of Nevada, Reno—in close collaboration with Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) institutions across the entire state—is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for the 2026 Northern Nevada Diversity Summit.  The branding theme for this year's Summit is Strong People. Strong Workforce. Strong Nevada. This NSHE-sponsored event celebrates thirteen years of engaging faculty, staff, students and community members in the statewide sharing of information relevant to educating and ensuring the workforce readiness of all Nevada’s citizens.

The 2026 Summit will take place at the University of Nevada, Reno on April 16 and April 17. Separate and distinct proposal processes will be followed for each day of the event.

The proposal submission deadline for Day One and Day Two is Friday, March 6, 2026, with notifications shared the week of March 23, 2026.

Day One will follow the established structure of past Summits and will feature sessions that examine workforce readiness, opportunity and advancement in relation to the lived experiences, identities, cultures, and community contexts that define our people and in relation to the policies and practices that shape educational and employment pathways across our state.

We invite proposals for workshops, panel discussions, research presentations, dialogue sessions, and poster presentations that explore inclusive and community-engaged approaches to workforce readiness, opportunity and advancement. Proposals are welcome from faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students, higher education administrators, K–12 partners, and community members from business and industry, government, and nonprofit sectors. Priority will be given to proposals that actively engage participants through interactive discussion, reflection, and skill-building.

Day Two will showcase student contributions to community-engaged research and applied projects that address the impact of lived experience, identity, culture, and community on educational and employment pathways across our state.

We invite proposals for workshops, panel discussions, research presentations, dialogue sessions, and poster presentations. Proposals are welcome from faculty, staff, higher education administrators, K–12 partners, and community members from business and industry, government, and nonprofit sectors working in conjunction with one or more currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students. Priority will be given to proposals that actively engage participants through interactive discussion, reflection, and skill-building.
